Glass ceiling in Congolese entrepreneurship: challenge and perspective
Keywords:
Glass ceiling, value creation, entrepreneur, cognitive ability, technologyAbstract
This study analyzes the emergence of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by 2050 in the face of the major challenge of globalization. The study focuses on the "glass ceiling" in Congolese entrepreneurship: challenges and prospects. Our initial motivation stems from empirical data on the slow growth of startups (ex-nihilo) until they reach the size of multinational corporations, as well as the low recruitment of Congolese to the highest levels of professional and organizational hierarchies internationally. However, to become an emerging country, the DRC must proceed by intensively exploiting its entrepreneurial potential.Another significant intangible dimension is value creation: this implies the creation of all forms of wealth. This wealth can include: assets, independence, power, self-esteem… or "the art of using technology to alter the cognition of businesses in our country." This is, first and foremost, the explicit aim of manipulating entrepreneurial minds in order to influence the mental processes and then the individual actions of entrepreneurs or the collective actions of companies—a strategy designed to create the "glass ceiling," a subtle obstacle that hinders socio-economic progress.
